“SKY ICT” and “AOT” Launch Thailand Travel Super App “SAWASDEE by AOT”, Creating an Innovative Tourism Experience
“SKY ICT” teams up with “AOT” to transform Thailand’s travelling experience with Thailand Travel Super App “SAWASDEE by AOT”. The App’s partners, which are Thailand’s leading organizations, offer privileges and special discounts with an aim to recover the tourism industry. The App also joins forces with Tourist Police to launch “Tourist Help” feature to ensure their security while they’re travelling. In addition, the App has other features including “Insurance” for buying travel insurances at special prices, “SAWASDEE Pay” to enjoy buying goods and services, and collecting “AOT Points” to receive a lot of privileges and special discount up to 50% from the partners.

Mr. Nitinai Sirismatthakarn, President of Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT), says that in the post-COVID-19 period, most countries allow people to travel in and out since early 2022. The movement has constantly increased the number of international visitors in Thailand. The AOT forecast the number of passengers in its six airports would rise to 96 million people in 2023, representing 68% of a record of total passengers prior to COVID-19. Mr. Kayon Tantichatiwat, Chief Marketing Officer of SKY ICT Public Company Limited (SKY), says that the AOT and SKY ICT company would like to deliver the ultimate experience to tourists under the “GATEWAY TO THAILAND” concept so they have partnered with several organizations to add new features on SAWASDEE by AOT App to achieve three main goals to provide 1. Digital Airport Experiences at six airports, comprising Suvarnabhumi International Airport, Don Mueang International Airport, Chiang Mai International Airport, Mae Fah Luang-Chiang Rai International Airport, Phuket International Airport, and Hat Yai International Airport. 2. Digital Lifestyle which offer e-payment services and other privileges. 3. Digital Travel Safety to ensure that tourists can travel with the most safety and convenience.
The highlight features of SAWASDEE by AOT App are “Flights” which connects all the flight board information, records your flight before travelling and sends the notification if there is any change of your flight, “Queue Time” showing the queue in three zones which are Check-In, Security Checkpoint, and immigration in the airports to prevent you from missing the flight, and “Taxi Reservation” which helps the App’s users to book taxi more conveniently.
“SAWASDEE Pay” is a digital wallet, co-developed with Krungthai Bank (KTB) with a main goal to provide better shopping experience to tourists. They can add VISA/MasterCard debit and credit cards on the App to make payment when they do shopping with partnered shops in the airports and outside. They will enjoy the discounts up to 50% at The Coral Lounge, and at more than 15 restaurant chains under SSP Thailand including The Pizza Company, Bon Chon, Burger King, Dairy Queen and Potato Corner. For every purchase, they will receive “AOT Points” which can be used for privileges or exchanged for the points of the App’s partners, for example, CARAT from King Power, PT Max Card of PTG gas stations and credit card points of Bangkok Bank, Krungsri Bank, Krungthai Bank and Siam Commercial Bank.
“Tourist Help” is a feature that coordinates with Tourist Police to provide more safety for tourists and it is available in six languages including Thai, English, Chinese, Korean, Japan and Russia. “Insurance” is to provide travel insurance and accidental insurance at special price as well as get the protection throughout the journey from Muang Thai Insurance, the country’s leading insurance company.
In addition, SAWASDEE by AOT App provides the services in eight languages, comprising Thai, English, Chinese, Indian, Japanese, Korea, Spanish and Russia. More features will be commenced soon, for example, Airport Free Wi-Fi to provide free internet access in the airports, Premium Services to provide Butler & Buggy services, AR technology that is being developed to assist tourists at different locations in the airport, and other services that are being developed with partners.
