Reinforcing Its Leadership in Aviation Tech and Readiness for Peak Travel Season

In an era where technology plays a crucial role in every industry, SKY ICT is making a significant impact on Thailand’s aviation sector. The company has established itself as the leading provider of Common Use Passenger Processing Systems (CUPPS) across 13 airports nationwide—the highest number in Thailand. This milestone reaffirms SKY ICT’s position as a pioneer in aviation technology and smart airport development, while also supporting Thailand’s tourism industry in the upcoming peak travel season.

Expands Airport & Passenger Service Technology to 13 Airports Nationwide, Reinforcing Its Leadership in Aviation Tech

Mr. Sithidej Mayalarp, CEO of SKY ICT Public Company Limited or SKY Group, stated that the company’s recognition and trust from the Department of Airports (DOA) and Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT)—have positioned SKY ICT as the most comprehensive airport technology provider in Thailand.

Currently, SKY ICT has developed and installed the Common Use Passenger Processing Systems (CUPPS) across 13 airports nationwide, with a total project value of more than 18 billion THB. The company’s CUPPS solutions cover seven airports under the DOA, including Phitsanulok, Khon Kaen, Surat Thani, Ubon Ratchathani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Trang, and Krabi. Additionally, SKY ICT provides its technology to six major airports managed by AOT: Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Hat Yai, and Mae Fah Luang–Chiang Rai. As a result, SKY ICT has become the largest airport technology provider in Thailand. This achievement highlights that SKY ICT is not just another airport technology service provider but an “unrivaled leader” in aviation technology, earning the trust of both government agencies and the country’s major airports. The development of SKY ICT to install CUPPS at a national level underscores the company’s capability in delivering high-standard technology solutions that enhance airport operations and management efficiency.

The CUPPS system provided by SKY at these airports includes key solutions such as:

  • CUTE (Common Use Terminal Equipment): Passenger ticketing system at check-in counters
  • CUSS (Common Use Self-check-in System): Self-service check-in kiosks
  • CUBD (Common Use Bag Drop): Automated baggage drop system
  • PVS (Passenger Validation System): Passenger screening system before gate entry
  • SBG (Self-Boarding Gate): Automated boarding gate system

These systems enable airports across Thailand to efficiently manage passenger flow, significantly reduce wait times, and enhance the overall travel experience. Building on this success, SKY ICT has also developed the Automated Biometric Identification System (Biometric), which utilizes facial recognition technology to verify passenger identities before entering the airport system. This cutting-edge solution ensures fast and accurate identity verification, enhancing security while streamlining the passenger journey. Currently, the Biometric system is operated at all six AOT airports, marking a major step toward elevating Thailand’s airport service standards to international levels. As the country prepares for the high travel season, this innovation plays a crucial role in supporting the tourism industry by efficiently handling the increasing number of travelers.

Elevating Thailand’s Airport to Global Standards, Ready for Peak Travel Season

Mr. Sithidej Mayalarp further stated, “The development of the CUPPS system across 13 airports nationwide and the implementation of the Automated Biometric Identification System (Biometric) demonstrate SKY ICT’s true leadership in aviation technology. We don’t just install systems—we focus on making passenger travel as seamless, safe, and modern as possible. We don’t implement technology just to showcase our capabilities; we do it to enhance the passenger experience with cutting-edge and smart solutions. This is especially important for this year, designated as the ‘Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025’, as the number of travelers continues to rise. Therefore, SKY ICT is enhancing its services to accommodate the growth of Thailand’s aviation sector, which is expected to exceed 10% this year.”

According to data from the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Thailand welcomed over 9.5 million tourists in the first quarter of 2025 (January–March), marking a 1.91% increase compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, AOT projects that total number of passengers for 2025 could exceed 130 million, reflecting the full recovery of the aviation and tourism sectors.

SKY and the Future of Thai Aviation Tech

Beyond its success in airport system development, SKY ICT is looking ahead to integrate AI and Big Data into the aviation industry. This innovation aims to create smart airports that can efficiently manage resources and swiftly respond to passenger needs. SKY ICT’s role as the aviation technology provider for 13 airports nationwide not only enhances Thailand’s airport infrastructure but also marks a significant step toward driving the aviation and tourism industries forward—positioning Thailand to be more competitive on a global level
