SKY signs MOU with KMUTT for developing Tech Talent and building aviation technology to enhance Digital Airport Experiences in Thailand.

On February 14, SKY ICT Public Company Limited (SKY) and the King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This collaboration will integrate knowledge and empower student proficiency by learning from real-life experience about aviation technology to be ready for work. SKY has supported 20 million baht for the development of aviation technology research which will enhance the Digital Airport Experiences at Thai airports. 

The signing ceremony was presided over by Mr. Sithidej Mayalarp, Chief Executive Officer of SKY ICT Public Company Limited (SKY) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suvit Saetia, Act for President, the King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi. Through this event, Mr. Kayon Tantichatiwat, Chief Marketing Officer, SKY ICT Public Company Limited, and Asst. Prof. Dr. -Ing Priyakorn Pusawiro, Head of Laboratory, ESIC Lab, the King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi is honored to sign the MOU as a witness.

Mr. Sithidej Mayalarp, Chief Executive Officer of SKY ICT Public Company Limited (SKY), the leading provider of Digital Platform and AI-Empowered Solution services in Thailand, says that “We prioritize the development of the young generation’s potential and support the creation of tech talent. Moreover, we aim to support the research sector to develop knowledge that enhances aviation tech in Thailand and connect technology with Thai people’s lifestyle which will raise Thailand’s tech ecosystem for future development.

Regarding Digital Airport Experiences, we would like to enhance the standard of the Thai airports and deliver the best experiences to domestic and international passengers. We are delighted to support 20 million baht for collaborating on the research about the digital airport with the Edutainment Socio-Interaction Computing Lab (ESIC), Department of Computer engineering, Faculty of the Engineering King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi. The direction for this collaboration goes in line with SKY’s vision “CONNECTING THAILAND”.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suvit Saetia, Act for President, the King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, says “KMUTT by collaborating with SKY to enhance students through work-based education model and improve student learning both academically and practically to dive Thai technology.”

Asst. Prof. Dr. -Ing Priyakorn Pusawiro, Head of Laboratory, ESIC Lab the King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, says This collaboration will develop through three stages: (1) Developing students learn both academically and practically to apply their academic skills for the world of work. (2) Applying research and intelligent technology to develop the airport that delivers the ultimate experience to passengers. (3) Developing research about aviation technology. 

Piyanit Wepulanon, Lecturer, Department of Computer Engineering King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi says “An important thing of development digital airport is Activating Space for Digital Airport, which includes a variety of technologies such as intentionally conspicuous device (Beacon), locating passengers in the airport with technology, cloud map processing, and the research that enhance the best and new experience to passengers. This collaboration is a crucial part of developing a digital airport.
